Streaming from a Mobile Device

Whether you’re on the field, in the classroom, or covering a live event on the go, you can stream directly from your mobile device using the free MyVRSpot Broadcaster app — available for both iOS and Android.

Streaming on iOS

To stream from an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Download the App
Get the MyVRSpot Broadcaster app from the App Store
  2. Log In
Open the app and log in with your MyVideoSpot account credentials.
  3. Choose Your Channel
    • Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner.
    • Scroll to the Channels section and select the streaming channel you want to broadcast to.
    • Note: You must already be added as a streamer for that channel. If you don’t see any options here, contact your admin.
  4. Adjust Optional Settings
Still in the Settings menu, you can fine-tune your stream:
    • Video resolution
    • Bitrate
    • Microphone and camera toggles
    • H264 profile, stream type, keyframe distance, and more
    • Basic settings work great, but feel free to explore.
  5. Add a Logo (Optional Overlay)
You can add an image overlay (like a school logo) to your stream:
    • In Settings, scroll to the Overlay URL field
    • Upload your logo to MyVideoSpot and grab its Share URL
    • Paste that URL into the Overlay field
    • Your image will appear in the top-left corner during your stream.
  6. Go Live
    • Tap the red record button to start streaming.
    • When you’re done, tap it again to stop.
    • Your stream will auto-save to your account by default.

Mobile Streaming Tips

A few helpful reminders when streaming from mobile:

  • Check your connection – Aim for strong Wi-Fi or LTE/5G to avoid buffering or dropped streams.
  • Keep your phone charged – Streaming drains battery quickly.
  • Landscape mode recommended – Turn your phone sideways for a wider, cleaner viewer experience.
  • Overlay images must be publicly shared – If you’re using the overlay feature (iOS), make sure your image’s Share URL is accessible.
  • Use the front or rear camera – You can switch views on the fly by tapping the camera icon during your stream.
