Video Recorder

Use the Video Recorder to quickly capture footage from your webcam (or other connected cameras), along with audio from your selected microphone. 

To access it, go to Media Tools > Recorder from the left menu, then use the toggle in the top-right corner to switch to Video. 

Recording Settings 

Above the preview window: 

• Aspect Ratio 
  16:9 (default) or 4:3 
• Resolution 
  Standard (480p) or High (720p) 
• Record Option 
  • Video + Audio (default) 
  • Video only

Need audio-only? Use the Audio Recorder instead.

• Save Settings 
  Click this to apply and save any setting changes. 

At the top of the player: 

• Camera Dropdown – switch between built-in or external webcams 
• Microphone Dropdown – choose your preferred mic 

Record Your Video 

1. Click Enable Camera to turn on your webcam. 
2. When ready, select: 
   • Start Recording Now 
   • Start Recording in 3 Seconds 
3. You can record for up to 60 minutes. 
4. A red Recording indicator will appear while recording. 
5. You can Pause and Resume at any time. 
6. Click Stop Recording when finished. 

After Recording 

You’ll see your recording preview and these options: 

• Delete Recording – removes the video 
• Download Recording – saves a .webm file to your device 
• Save to My Account – uploads the video to your MyVideoSpot library 

Info

.webm files are designed for web playback. If played locally, they may show only audio with a black screen — but they’ll display correctly once uploaded. 

Upload Error?
If you see: “Unable to upload file. Please try again or download the recording…” 
Your internet connection may be unstable. Download the video and try uploading again later.
