Adding Text and Transitions 

Adding Text 

  1. Click the Text (T) icon on the left panel. 
  2. Drag a TEXT box into the timeline.
  3. Click the text item in the timeline to open Text Settings
    • Font: Type your text, choose a font, and customize color or background 
    • Size: Adjust position in the Preview window or use a preset 
    • Outline: Add a stroke, select a color, and set strength 
    • Shadow: Add a drop shadow and adjust blur, color, and direction 
  4. Drag the text clip to where you want it to appear in the preview window.
  5. Use the slider and scissors in your timeline to control how long the text stays on screen.

Place your text clips on a higher timeline layer than the video clips you want them to overlay. 

Adding Transitions

  1. Click the Transitions icon in the Media Bin.
  2. Drag a transition between two clips in your timeline.
  3. Click to adjust its duration in the Transition Settings.

Transitions can only be added at the beginning or end of clips. Split clips with the scissors if needed.
