Creating an Insight is simple and flexible.
Here’s how to get started:
- Open the Insight Builder
Go to Insights > Insight Builder from the left-hand menu. - Choose Your Attachment (Optional)
You can create an Insight with or without an attachment. Supported file types include:
Videos Images Audio Documents Google Slides
Attachments help provide context for your Blocks. - Set Insight Attributes
- Basic Info:
- Title – Give your Insight a clear, descriptive name
- Description – (Optional) Add instructions or context
- Grading Options:
- Assign point values to Blocks
- Set a Completion Grade (auto-marks the Insight complete when a % of correct answers is met)
- Using Completion Grade disables Open Response Blocks since they require manual review.
- Sharing Settings:
- Choose whether other users in your organization can duplicate this Insight
- Advanced Settings:
- Allow Blocks to Be Read Aloud – Improves accessibility
- Allow Retakes – Users can complete the Insight more than once
- Allow Resume Later – Users can save progress and return
- Hide Correct Answers After Completion – Keeps answers private
- Set a Start and End Date – Define a time window for completion
- Basic Info:
- Add Blocks (Interactive Questions)
- Choose from the following Block types:
- True/False – Enter a statement and mark the correct answer
- Multiple Choice – Add a question and up to 5 answer choices (A & B required)
- Fill in the Blank – Specify a sentence with a blank and the correct response(s)
- Add answer variations as needed (e.g., capitalization and punctuation)
- Open Response – Users type or upload a response
- These require manual review and are not compatible with Completion Grade
- Add Existing Block – Reuse a Block from your previous Insights
- Choose from the following Block types:
Each Block can be:
Removed Edited Re-scored Reordered
Timed Block Display (for Video/Audio Attachments)
If your Insight includes a video or audio attachment, you’ll have the option to control when each Block appears:
- Before Playback – Block is shown before the media begins
- After Playback – Block is shown only after the media finishes
- During Playback – Block appears at a specific time during the media
When using During Playback, you’ll specify the exact timestamp in seconds (e.g., 92 for 1 minute and 32 seconds). You can preview the video or audio while placing Blocks to make sure they show up at just the right moment.
When a Block appears during playback, the media will automatically pause so the user can respond. Once the Block is answered and submitted, playback will resume from where it left off — keeping the experience seamless and focused.
- Save or Publish
- Save as Draft – Continue editing later
- Publish Insight – Finalize and share
Once published, you can:
- Copy a Share Link (users must log in to respond)
- Notify Users via internal notification
