Creating a Showcase 

To create a new Showcase: 

  1. Go to Media Tools > Showcases 
    From the left-hand menu, open the Media Tools dropdown and select Showcases
  2. Click Create Showcase 
    This opens the setup page. The types of Showcases you can create depend on your account role: 
    • District Showcase – Available to District Admins 
    • School Showcase – Available to School and District Admins 
    • Classroom Showcase – Available to Teachers, School Admins, and District Admins

District Admins can manage content for all Showcases. School Admins can manage school-level and classroom-level Showcases. Teachers can manage their own Classroom Showcases or ones they’ve been added to.

  1. Enter Showcase Details 
    Give your Showcase a title and create your initial categories. 
    You can always add more categories or change the order later. 
  2. Choose Display Options 
    Control how your Showcase appears to viewers: 
    • Set the default display order (e.g., date added or alphabetical) 
    • Choose the view mode (Default is Gallery View with thumbnails or List View with titles + dates) 
    • Show or hide the “All” category button 
    • Add password protection for public viewing 
  3. Add a Showcase Header 
    Upload a banner image from your device, or select one already in your MyVideoSpot account.  
    • Use 1920 x 200 for your header size for best results 
  4. Adjust Advanced Options (Optional) 
    Fine-tune the visual layout or apply custom styling: 
    • Adjust the gallery box width (in pixels) 
    • Add custom CSS to personalize your Showcase appearance 
  5. Click Create Showcase 
    Once everything looks good, scroll down and click Create Showcase to publish it. 
  6. Manage and Share Your Showcase 
    After creating your Showcase, you’ll land on its management page. From here, you can: 
    • Preview or update your Showcase layout 
    • Manage categories 
    • Add or remove Showcase Admins 
    • Access tracking data 
    • Grab the URL, embed code, or QR code 
    • Find LTI info for embedding in LMS platforms like Canvas or Schoology
